We found this home last November and were the first ones to view the property. We loved the house but could not qualify for the mortgage amount we needed. Just when I could re-apply for a higher mortgage, we found out the property was under offer. (The owners had accepted a buyer’s offer but it had not yet sold.) Around July I was told the property had sold. We had been praying that the sale would fall through because, after years of looking, we knew that this was a one-of-a-kind property in our area. I told Evangelist Jonathan Washer when we were near the property, “I don’t understand why it has sold. But, I know that if God wanted us to have this home, we would have it.” (I felt that strongly about it.) We’d continue to go by the property, noticing that it remained vacant and wondered what was going on.

Just about two months ago, I heard from the seller’s agent that the property was back on the market. We were the first ones to view the property as we went back through it. Just over a week later, the property went to closing (where our offer and another offer were considered.) My solicitor called me and said, “Well, your offer wasn’t the highest, but the owner has accepted your offer.” The financing that God gave us was a miracle of itself. He also provided the down payment we needed. We closed on the property in three weeks from the offer being accepted. Online home buying advice says about closing quickly, “It is possible to close as early as 30 days after an offer being accepted.” We don’t know why the owner chose to sell to our family, but they did send us a nice card stating, “We added onto this home and built it for a family. We are so thankful that a family will be enjoying it.”  By the way, the addition to this home was planned in 2006, the very same year that we sold our home in Michigan!

I learned at the end of 12 years of praying about this that God has authority over solicitors, banks, sellers, etc. Our family is so thankful to God for His goodness and to you for your prayers for God’s provision.

Part 2 of 3 parts.    Continued next week……
