BRAZIL

CONTINUED FROM LAST WEEK

Departure Date. We are praying to be headed to Brazil in the next few months. We are currently at 93% of our support and know that, in God’s timing, He will provide the rest. Our plan is to just pack our belongings in suitcases when we move. Recently, the baggage weight limit for Brazil changed from 70 lbs. down to 50 lbs. Along with the weight change, some of the airlines increased the fees for extra bags. Once we arrive in Brazil, we will also have the additional expenses of a vehicle and household set up.
Prayer Requests. We ask that you would please pray for us, especially in regards to the following things:
1) for the final 7% of our support to come in, 2) for Kate’s permanent visa, and 3) for the departure date and moving and set up expenses.
Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support.
In Christ, Nate, Kate & Gabe Nichols

    Dear Co-Laborers and Prayer Partners,

As we start 2018 we pray that each and every one of you will have a very blessed year. I am so very thankful for your support and pray that you will be blessed in this New Year.

In November I returned from Matamoros, Mexico. During my time there we had services in several churches. We also traveled to Monterrey, Mexico and had a meeting there. While there, Pastor Viginna’s son was married. It was a blessing to be there during this time. I also traveled to Chile where I spent two weeks visiting the churches around Melipilla, Chile. While I was there I had the privilege of preaching in several churches. What a blessing it was to see how the Lord had worked in many lives.

On February 3, I will be traveling to Guatemala with Pastor Ed Trinkle. We will be visiting churches, Mana Worldwide feeding centers, orphanages, and ministering to the Mayan Indians. Please be praying for us during our travels.

I want to thank all of those who sent money to help buy toys for the children in Mexico. Thank you for making many children happy. What a blessing this was for the children in Mexico.     I wanted to share a video that you can find on You tube that a young lady I know put together for me. It has been a blessing to me and I wanted to share it with you. You can either search on You tube for Frank Gillespie Missionary Video or use this link: https://youtu.be/EtfYWb5e6Ck

I pray that you all had a wonderful Christmas with your family and I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year. I pray that the Lord will have his many blessings upon you.

I am so thankful for each of you continuing to support my ministry. How very grateful I am for churches and friends like you. May the Lord bless each and every one of you.                                          Your Missionary Frank Gillespie

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. NICHOLS FAMILY – MISSIONARIES TO BRAZIL

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:13

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Happy New Year! We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas time. We thank the Lord for the blessing of being able to spend the holidays at home with family.

Update on our paperwork. In November, we went to the Brazilian consulate in Atlanta hoping to get started on some paperwork. Once we arrived, we were told that we could not do a single thing, because they require a recent birth certificate (one that is issued within the last 180 days) in order to get started on any paperwork. That was frustrating, but even more so because Nate was born in Brazil, and we knew it would take awhile to obtain a new birth certificate. Nate’s parents made the trip to the city where he was born, got the certificate, and mailed it up to us. We received it shortly before Christmas and have now also obtained new birth certificates for Kate and Gabe, along with a new marriage license. We have to renew Nate’s Brazilian passport, register our marriage, register Gabe’s birth, and work on getting Gabe’s Brazilian citizenship. The next step is scheduling appointments with the consulate. They do everything by appointments now, so we are trying to find a time we can make the trip to Atlanta.

Amazon Trip. There is a potential medical mission trip to the Amazon scheduled in March. We are asking God for wisdom about whether Nate should go or not. Departure Date. Our hopes were that we would be heading to Brazil around February. At this time, that does not seem like it will work out. The new goal is for an April departure time. All in the Lord’s timing.

Prayer Requests. We ask that you would please pray for us, especially in regards to the following things: 1) for us to finish the paperwork this month, 2) to be prepared for leaving, and 3) for the final bit of support to come in.

Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support.  In Christ,

    Nate, Kate & Gabe Nichols

    THE WINSLOWS IN THAILAND

    Merry Christmas from :

Daniel - Thank you for praying for me! We’ve been in Thailand for six weeks and we’ve been in language class now for three weeks. I’ve been learning what it means to live here and be a husband and father here. The tonal language is challenging and each day after class my mind feels exhausted, but I enjoy practicing the Thai I’ve learned. Last night I was able to give a Thai dessert to our neighbor who is a farmer. I enjoy the opportunities I get to build a relationship with him, with a couple in our neighborhood, and with the retired university professor down the street. Pray for these relationships. During my morning runs, I’ve noticed the number of people at Buddhist temples nearby our house. I’ve also noticed monks walking around in the morning collecting food and money from small businesses. Each business and home has a spirit house in front of it where candles are lit and offerings are made.

Chrissy - As I observe people around me doing good deeds to earn merit, I’m so thankful for God’s unconditional acceptance and love toward me. I don’t have to earn it. I’m thankful that growing up, I heard the good news of how I could be reconciled to God through Jesus. I’m thankful the Holy Sprit helped me understand God’s Word so I could believe and be rescued from sin. In a country where most everything and everyone looks beautiful, I’m starting to observe ladies struggling with pressures of body image and eating disorders. I’m in the very beginning stages of building relationships through exercise and fitness. Pray for these people with me. Learning a tonal language is difficult, but I’m reminded my “labor is not in vain in the Lord.” I look forward to sharing hope in Christ in these relationships and coming alongside Thai believers as they grow and make disciples.

Eva - I really like my school. I love language arts and reading, but not math, so sometimes I have to do extra practice for math. In our city, there is an awesome bamboo playground we visit sometimes. It’s at a restaurant so you can also eat there. I really like my new friends at school. Could you pray that we have fun together at my birthday party this month? I’m starting to like unicorns so I want a unicorn cake. My new hobby is trying to become an amazing parkour runner. Please pray I can find the right sport to be involved in next semester, like gymnastics or soccer. Khap Kuun Khaa (Thanks!)

Love,  Daniel, Chrissy, & Eva Winslow in Chiangmai, Thailand.
