A WARM AND SPECIAL THANK YOU . . .
Today

…to all those who helped with Vacation Bible School this year. We had a wonderful week of fellowship around God’s Word as we worked together to share the story of DANIEL’S COURAGE IN CAPTIVITY with the children. Blessings to all those who offered time, talents, money, and prayers for the week. Our missions offering will go to help Nate and Kate Nichols as they prepare to go to minister in Brazil.  If you would like to give toward this offering, please earmark your gift for The Nichols family. They leave Tuesday (July 17th) for Brazil. See their prayer letter below for more details and requests for prayer.

NATE, KATE & GABE NICHOLS
BRAZIL

It is hard to believe that after almost three years, we are finally leaving for Brazil! We are full of excitement, nervousness, and wonder at this new chapter in our lives that is beginning. We fly out of Nashville, TN on Tuesday, July 17th. Our deputation time has been wonderful and we have learned so much through it, but we are ready to arrive in Brazil and begin getting into the work to which God has called us. For us to go to Brazil is not something we consider a sacrifice, it is our privilege! Jesus Christ has done so much for us and it is our “reasonable service” (Romans 12:1) to go where He calls us.
Paperwork. Praise the Lord, we just obtained the final piece of paperwork we needed from the Consulate! Thank you so much for your prayers on this matter. Once we arrive in Brazil, we will need to register the different documents with the federal police, but everything should be in order for moving down there.
Ordination. A few weeks ago, our home church voted to ordain Nate to the gospel ministry upon recommendation of an ordination council. This Friday, Nate and another missionary out of our home church, Zack Gerwitz, went before the ordination council. After a couple hours of questioning, the council voted that both men should be ordained. Sunday night, July 8th, Nate and Zack Gerwitz were officially ordained!
New Addition. We are excited to announce that we have a new addition to our family! The Lord has blessed us with a little one on the way! Kate is about 13 weeks along and is due the middle of January!
Prayer Requests. We ask that you please pray for us, especially in regard to the following things: 1) for smooth flights to Brazil and all the luggage to arrive safely, 2) for Kate’s pregnancy, 3) for wisdom with all the decisions that will need to be made once we arrive, and 4) for a good car in Brazil.

Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support. May God bless you!
In Christ, Nate, Kate & Gabe Nichols

    MARTY AND BEV ZIDE
    MIDWEST MESSIANIC CENTER

I recently had the privilege of speaking in a church where I explained how the Lord provides people for us at the Center to witness to. As you would imagine, most Jewish people have little interest in talking about the claims of Jesus being the Messiah. But, we do what Paul did in Colossians 4:2-4. This works for people from all backgrounds and this church wants to put this truth to the test. Here is what the Pastor wrote me:

“I thought you would be encouraged to hear what our church theme/focus is this year. It is ‘Missio Dei’ (the mission of God) and the key verses are Colossians 4:2-4. Our threefold focus from these verses are . . . 1. Pray earnestly, 2. Walk through (the open door of opportunities), 3. Speak clearly. Thank you for the timely emphasis of praying for open doors and walking through them. God bless you this year! Pastor”

I would encourage you to start praying Colossians 4:2-4 and watch God open doors for you. If you take this challenge, you need to be prepared. Have some tracts and booklets handy, or make sure you know the Gospel message so well that you will be able on a moment’s notice to begin proclaiming it. Call us and we can provide you with some excellent materials to use in your evangelism. I want you to know this really works.

    Praises
    1. June 2018 marks 30 years for Bev and I being at the Center. It’s hard to believe that so many years have gone by. We praise Him for the multitudes of people who have been ministered to.
    2. For a new church who recently took us on for support. This is always a very special blessing.
    - Marty and Bev Zide (Midwest Messianic Center)

    BRAZIL

    CONTINUED FROM LAST WEEK

Departure Date. We are praying to be headed to Brazil in the next few months. We are currently at 93% of our support and know that, in God’s timing, He will provide the rest. Our plan is to just pack our belongings in suitcases when we move. Recently, the baggage weight limit for Brazil changed from 70 lbs. down to 50 lbs. Along with the weight change, some of the airlines increased the fees for extra bags. Once we arrive in Brazil, we will also have the additional expenses of a vehicle and household set up.
Prayer Requests. We ask that you would please pray for us, especially in regards to the following things:
    1) for the final 7% of our support to come in, 2) for Kate’s permanent visa, and 3) for the departure date and moving and set up expenses.
Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support.
In Christ, Nate, Kate & Gabe Nichols
