DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Bible, the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments consisting of sixty-six books, is the infallible and inerrant Word of God. It is divine revelation; the original writings were verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit as He inbreathed holy men of old. The Scriptures are the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

I Corinthians 2:9-14; II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:19-21

THE GODHEAD

We believe in "one" God, eternally existing in three persons:
The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit
 …Co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, and co-equal in power and glory, each having the same attributes and perfections.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 46:9; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; John 14:16-17; II Corinthians 13:14

THE PERSON AND WORK OF CHRIST

A. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without
     ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin
     Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.

     John 1:1&14; Galatians 4:4; Philippians 2:5-8; Matthew 1:23; Colossians 2:9;
     John 1:18

B. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death
     on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice, and, that our justification is made sure by
     His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.

     Hebrews 2:9, 9:26-28; I Peter 2:21-24; 3:18; Matthew 28:1-7; Acts 2:24;
     Romans 4:25; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 17:31

C. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, and is now exalted at the
     right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of representative,
     intercessor, and advocate.

     Acts 1:9-11: Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 1:3,2:17-18,4:14-16, Hebrews 5:9-10, 6:19-20,
     9:24, 10:21-22; I John 2:1-2

THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

A. We believe the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness,
     and of judgment; and that He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all
     believers into the body of Christ, at the moment of salvation, indwelling and sealing
     them unto the day of redemption.

     John 16:8-11, 6:63, 3:3-8; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:9;
     Ephesians 4:30

B. We believe that He is the divine teacher who guides believers into all truth; and that it
     is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be led by the Holy Spirit.

     John 14:26, 16:12-15; I John 2:20&27; Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:16-25;
     Romans 8:13-14

THE CREATION

We believe in God's direct creation of the universe, without the use of pre-existent material and apart from any process of evolution whatsoever, according to the Genesis account.

Genesis 1:1-31; Psalm 33:6-9; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17

THE TOTAL DEPRAVITY OF MAN

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and, that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to save himself.

Genesis 2:17, 3:6-10; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1; John 3:3-7

SALVATION

We believe salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace, apart from any works of righteousness that we might do, and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.

Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 16:30-31; Romans 3:24-25

THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER AND ASSURANCE

We believe that all the redeemed, once saved are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ Jesus forever, having assurance of eternal salvation.

II Timothy 2:16-19; John 6:39, 10:28; Romans 8:35-39; I Peter 1:3-5; Jude vs1;
John 5:13; Hebrews 10:22; Romans 8:16

THE TWO NATURES

We believe that every saved person possesses two natures, with provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. The old nature is not eradicated upon our conversion.

Romans 7:18-25; Galatians 5:16-17
